"Publish own Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere" is the practice of publishing to your own website then publishing the same content to third-party platforms.

For example, if I post a zettel to my gartenkasten, then post the text of that zettel to BlueSky or Facebook, then I am following POSSE.

One benefit of this is you'll [Prev:: make your ideas findable]. And you own the platform on which your content is being posted. (Which is why everyone says to start an email list, I guess.)
